Peter receives the men and takes six with him as they go to Cornelius - Ac 10:21-23; 11:12 D. PETER ARRIVES AT CORNELIUS HOUSE ... 1. Cornelius has gathered his family and close friends - Ac 10:24 2. Peter deflects an attempt by Cornelius to worship him - Ac 10: 25-26 3.
Peter is called to go to the house of a Gentile a Roman centurion named Cornelius to tell him about God s grace revealed in Jesus. To go to Cornelius's house and stay there Peter must leave behind the scriptural commands of God that require separation of foods …
God s timing is always perfect. Just as Peter was wondering about the true meaning of the vision the Gentiles show up at Simon' s home. Peter goes to Cornelius : 23 Then called he them in and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went away with them and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him.
Peter Preaches to the Gentiles – Acts 10:1-11:30 Cornelius 1 Now there was a man at Caesarea named Cornelius a centurion of what was called the Italian cohort 2 a devout man and one who feared God with all his household and gave many alms to the Jewish people and prayed to God continually.
WHY DID CORNELIUS HAVE TO HEAR PETER’S PREACHING? by Shawn Brasseaux “Although Cornelius in Acts 10 is described as a devout man why did he still need to hear what Peter had to say regarding Jesus Christ?” What a fascinating question! Thank you. Yes a Gentile Cornelius was a “devout [religious] man” (Acts 10:2). He had some knowledge about the one true God.
Cornelius feared God and so did his whole house which says much about all parties (Ps 34:11). Cornelius gave alms before he met Peter . This proves he had eternal life already.
4. (34-43) Peter ’ s short sermon to the Gentiles at Cornelius ’ house . Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.
The story does not end there. Beginning in verse 17 Now while Peter was greatly puzzled about what to make of the vision that he had seen suddenly the men sent by Cornelius appeared. They were asking for Simon s house and were standing by the gate. They called out to ask whether Simon who was called Peter was staying there.
