Through a microscope you can see a cell plate beginning to develop across the middle of a cell and nuclei forming on either side of the cell plate. a plant cell in the process of cytokinesis. Vinblastine is a standard chemotherapeutic drug used to treat cancer. disruption of mitotic spindle formation.

Through a microscope you can see a cell plate beginning to develop across the middle of a cell and nuclei forming on either side of the cell plate. This cell is most likely a plant cell in the process of cytokinesis .
Sun Nov 30 2008 · The G1/S checkpoint is the rate limiting step and precedes duplication of genetic material. However the cell won't divide until the G2/M checkpoint is properly signaled for in G2. The proper signal is MPF (maturation/mitosis promoting factor) phosphorylating CDKs . Cdc25 will also help the signal by inhibiting phosphotases that dephosphorylate CDKs.
The G1 or first gap checkpoint makes sure that the cell is big enough and contains all necessary ingredients to begin mitosis. The cell must receive a signal before it continues with the cell cycle; without the signal the cell goes into the G0 state where the cell has been taken out of the...
