Sat Nov 22 2008 · A buffer is a solution made by an acid (or base) with it's conjugate base (or acid). In this case HF is the acid and NaF is it's conjugate base. The other's couldn't be a buffer because #1 NaF alone could not be a buffer. #3 HF being deluted by water is not forming a buffer.
