What hot-dog maker operates the “Wienermobile”?
- Oscar Mayer:The "Wienermobile" is a series of 12 automobiles shaped like a hot dog on a bun which are used to promote and advertise Oscar Mayer products. It was first created in 1936 by Oscar Mayer's nephew, Carl G. Mayer who suggested building a 13-foot-long mobile hot dog to cruise around Chicago and hand out “German wieners” to surprised pedestrians. Drivers of the Wienermobiles are now known as "hotdoggers" and are trained at Hot Dog High in Madison, Wisconsin. This year marks the 84rd anniversary of the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile.
