[Answer] In which country did the Mambo dance originate?

We have looked all around the web to find the most relevant answer to your query:

In which country did the Mambo dance originate?

  • Cuba:Cuba is where the Mambo dance originated. There was a substantial population of Haitians who settled in Cuba. There is no record of a traditional Haitian folk dance called the mambo, however. In the back-country areas of some Caribbean islands, a Mambo is a voodoo priestess who fills the function of counselor, healer, spiritual advisor, and exorcist in villages. It wasn't until the music of the Swing movement fused with the Cuban rhythms that this new dance came about. The Mambo dance is generally attributed to Perez Prado. He introduced it in the La Tropicana nightclub in 1943 in Havana. Source: CentralHome.com
