What show's title character is NOT a blood relative to one of the other two?

  • Dick Tracy:The Lone Ranger and The Green Hornet are in fact related in the original radio story. Britt Reid, aka the Green Hornet, is the grandnephew of John Reid, aka the Lone Ranger. The character of Dan Reid, who appeared on the Lone Ranger as the Masked Man's nephew, was also featured on the Green Hornet as Britt Reid's father. Both shows originated on WXYZ Radio in Detroit, and were created by Fran Striker and George W. Trendle. "The Lone Ranger," made its debut in 1933 and the "Green Hornet" followed in 1936. The Green Hornet was conceived when Trendle had the idea of using a modern-day character who was related to the Lone Ranger.
