We have looked all around the web to find the most relevant answer to your query:

What Nobel Prize-winning author died by suicide in 1961?

  • Ernest Hemingway:Ernest Hemingway was one of the great American 20th century novelists, and was renowned for his novels such as The Sun Also Rises, A Farewell to Arms, For Whom the Bell Tolls, and The Old Man and the Sea, which won the 1953 Pulitzer Prize. Many of his works are considered classics of American literature. Shortly after the publication of The Old Man and the Sea, Hemingway went on safari to Africa, where he was almost killed in two plane crashes that left him in pain and ill-health for much of the rest of his life. In 1959 he moved to Ketchum, Idaho, where he died by suicide with a shotgun in the summer of 1961.
