- Snake:Kaa is an enormous snake featured in Disney's 1967 animated film "The Jungle Book." He's known for his huge appetite, mostly aimed toward Mowgli the man cub. Kaa specializes in hypnotizing his prey with his eyes, which he uses to manipulate his victims into his crushing coils. In Kipling's books, Kaa played a mentoring role to Mowgli and was protective of him. Walt Disney didn't think a benevolent snake would go over well with theater audiences, so Kaa's role became one of an antagonist who provided one of the reasons Mowgli needed to return to the man village and leave the jungle.
