[Answer] What are small animals that cannot live outside a cave environment called?

We have looked all around the web to find the most relevant answer to your query:

What are small animals that cannot live outside a cave environment called?

  • Troglobites:Small creatures that have permanently adapted to life in a cave are troglobites. These little critters are so well-adapted to their cave environment that they would not survive if forced to move to the surface. They have highly developed senses of touch, hearing, and smell, but have long ago lost the ability of sight. Living in the complete darkness of a cave eliminates the need for sight. Most have the remains of undeveloped eyes that may be covered by a layer of skin. Because they live in darkness, the need for camouflage coloring as a method of protection is eliminated, leaving many troglobites as albinos. Source: Geology.com
