Which band was once known as "The Rattlesnakes?"

  • The Bee Gees:The Rattlesnakes began in Manchester, England, in 1955. This British rock-and-roll group was formed by Barry Gibb and would eventually become the Bee Gees in 1958. Barry Gibb began to the band and was joined by his brothers Robin and Maurice Gibb in 1955. The brothers joined as vocalists, and their friends and neighbors Paul Frost and Kenny Horrocks joined later as drum and bass players. The Bee Gees made their debut appearance in December 1957 at the Gaumont Cinema. Their song choice for their debut performance was the Everly Brothers' "Wake Up Little Susie." The Bee Gees had a career that spanned five decades. Maurice died at age 53 in 2003. Robin died at age 62 in 2012. Of the original Rattlesnakes, only Barry Gibb and Kenny Horrocks remain.
