Who made the first solo flight around the world?

  • Wiley Post:It took seven days, eighteen hours, and forty-nine minutes for American aviator Wiley H. Post to complete the first solo flight around the world. He was the first to accomplish the feat. Post started his historic journey by flying nonstop from New York to Berlin on July 15, 1933. He made a brief stop there to rest, then continued his solo journey to the Soviet Union. He made several stops on his way back to North America, including stops in Alaska and Canada before his return to New York. His plane was the "Winnie Mae," a Lockheed Vega monoplane equipped with a direction radio and a Sperry automatic Pilot. Source: History.com
