Which mascot was inspired by the designer’s son drawing a face on a fogged-up window?

  • Kool-Aid Man:In 1954, Marvin Potts, an art director for a New York advertising agency, was hired by General Foods to create a mascot for their brand, Kool-Aid. Inspired by watching his young son draw smiley faces on a frosted window, Potts created the Pitcher Man, a glass pitcher with a wide smile emblazoned on its side and filled with Kool-Aid. It was not until 1975 that Pitcher Man grew a set of arms and legs and officially became Kool-Aid Man. The Kool-Aid Man is typically featured answering the call of children by smashing through walls and holding a pitcher filled with Kool-Aid, yelling his catchphrase, "Oh yeah!"
