Where are all U.S. Major League baseballs currently manufactured?

  • Costa Rica:If you thought Costa Rica was a country only focused on soccer, you couldn’t be farther from the truth. Costa Rica is home to a Rawlings factory which manufactures all baseballs for the Major Leagues. The factory is located in the town of Turrialba, and produces around 2.4 million baseballs each year. The balls are shipped to the United States, distributed to teams and rubbed in mud before being used in a game. Every baseball however has a limited lifespan. During the 2020 Major League Baseball season, teams utilized approximately 1,140,000 balls, or roughly 160 every game.
