Instead of sailing   Paul  started  the second missionary journey  overland  crossing one mountain range to Tarsus  then another to Derbe and  Lystra  as he  and Silas  moved west. In the area of Derbe and  Lystra    Paul  met up with Timothy again  whom  Paul  had mentored on his first trip.  Timothy joined Paul and Silas  as a ministry partner.
